I bought this for my first pet snake, a rough Green Snake. I used a soft top tray, making it taller because the Serpent is an inhabitant of tree. I cut small slits in the tray, so soft could plant live plants and would be able to get good drainage. worked beautifully. I had a terrarium of viva air, open for my snake, exactly what she needed. Pros: extremely light, easy to assemble. escape lasting evidence doesn't dissolve with a heat lamp on top for good air flow and keeping live plants accessible for easy storage. do not hold heat well with. that is the only problem I had with this. drape a blanket over 3 sides during cold days of the year, but for someone who lived in a warmer climate would not be no problem at all.
